BECOME A CERTIFIED CONCEPT2 COACH

Crew Class Concept2 Coaching Certificate
The Crew Class Concept2 Coaching Certification is designed for coaches, personal trainers, rowing coaches, and fitness leaders who want to confidently coach indoor rowing across all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Created in partnership with Concept2, this is Ireland’s only accredited Concept2 RowErg coaching course, blending expert instruction with practical, hands-on learning.
Over one and a half days, you’ll gain the technical knowledge, coaching tools, and assessment experience to deliver safe and effective RowErg coaching. On successful completion, you’ll be certified to coach on the Concept2 RowErg and able to design programmes that improve performance, technique, and enjoyment for your athletes or clients.
Why We Designed This Course?
Indoor rowing is one of the most effective, versatile, and accessible forms of exercise—yet it remains underused in many gyms and training programmes. Too few trainers and instructors truly know how to coach it well. Coaching rowing is more than teaching the stroke—it’s about understanding the benefits, using the RowErgs versatility to train across different domains, and creating effective, enjoyable programmes for all.
Rowing is a low-impact, full-body workout that can be scaled for any age, ability, or fitness level. When coached well, it’s not just effective—it’s addictive. This course aims to put more confident, skilled, and accredited Concept2 coaches into gyms, studios, and clubs, helping more people discover the RowErg’s full potential.
Riding the Wave of Indoor Rowing’s Boom
Indoor rowing is booming—and the momentum keeps building. With the rise of CrossFit, Hyrox, and functional fitness, the Concept2 RowErg has become a staple for building strength, power, and endurance. It’s now a fixture in gyms, competitive events, and training programmes worldwide—and the demand for skilled indoor rowing coaches has never been higher.
Why? Because it works. The RowErg delivers a low-impact, full-body workout that’s scalable for any age or fitness level, making it just as effective for elite athletes as it is for complete beginners.
Who’s Behind It?
Your instructor isn’t just another coach—you’ll be learning from Niall O’Toole, Ireland’s first Rowing World Champion and a three-time Olympian (1992, 1996, 2004). Over a 20-year international career, Niall competed in 15 World Championships, set a world record, and raced at the very highest level. After retiring, Niall founded Crew Class, Ireland’s first dedicated indoor rowing fitness business, with the mission of making rowing accessible, engaging, and effective for everyone.
This certification distils decades of hard-earned experience—both victories and challenges—into a practical, hands-on course to help you become a confident, skilled rowing coach. You don’t need to be a world champion to coach like one—you just need the right knowledge, tools, and mindset.
